It’s 8AM on June 21 and the 2021 Parks Challenge is officially open! Now through July 11, get outdoors with your friends and family and win great prizes by exploring Oakland parks!
Ready for a taste of the action? Get started with a visit to your favorite Oakland park (100 points)! Explore the new tot lot at Maxwell Park (250 points)! Stop and smell the roses at the Morcom Rose Garden (500 points)! and, Climb to the summit view at Leona Heights Park (1,000 points)! 50 missions are ready for you to explore, with more to come!
There are great prizes just for playing! 1st prizes are a park kit with a jumbo park bag, picnic blanket and water bottle; 2nd prizes are a nature journal; 3rd prizes are a knit beanie hat. All participants receive an Oakland parks poster. Watch for special prizes like signed A’s gear and back-to-school backpacks announced during the game!
The 2021 Parks Challenge is a free, fun for all ages scavenger hunt running citywide from June 21 to July 11, presented in partnership with The Trust for Public Land and with support from the Oakland A’s!
