Let’s Clean Up Courtland Creek Park

Join us for a Courtland Creek Park Cleanup on Saturday, June 19, in honor of Juneteenth! This event is hosted by the Friends of Courtland Creek Park, Oakland Parks and Recreation Foundation and Oakland Public Works.

This will be a 2.5 hour park cleanup to remember the 2.5 years freedom was denied for 250,000 enslaved people in Texas after the Emancipation Proclamation went into effect. Learn more at Outdoor Afro.

Meet us at the Courtland Avenue roundabout near Brookdale Avenue at 10AM on Saturday, June 19th. Coffee and donuts, as well as gloves, bags, and tools, will be provided. The work will include picking up trash, weeding and painting over graffiti.

Date: June 19, 2021
Time: 10AM to 12:30PM
Where: Meet across from 2550 Courtland Avenue at the Courtland Avenue roundabout near Brookdale Avenue

Hear about how you can be involved with the upcoming creek restoration project at the park and get an Oakland creek bandana (doubles as a mask, if you need one!).
