VOLUNTEER
We actively seek new people to serve on our Board of Directors or on one of our community committees. Specifically, we need individuals to help plan our volunteer clean up events on Earth Day and Creek to Bay Day, to serve on our Community Powered Parks and World Class Parks advocacy committees and to contribute media skills to our Development committee. If you are interested in volunteering for the Oakland Parks and Recreation Foundation, please contact us at hello@oaklandparks.org.
Park Activation Toolkits
Are you ready to get out into your community with your neighbors to bring equitable, sustainable improvements to your local park? Whether your ambitions are to clean and green, plan an event or reimagine an entire park from the ground up, we have the resources and relationships you will need. Whether you are an experienced community leader or a new volunteer just getting started, these park activation toolkits are for you.
Volunteer Opportunities
Do you like to get a little dirty, feel the rich soil between your fingertips or experience the great satisfaction you can get from extricating a stubborn, root-embedded weed from its grounded home? Those and many other gardening chores are standard fare at a number of Oakland parks and the organizations that conduct regular workdays at these parks would be glad to welcome you as a volunteer. Find one near your home, or even across town, and get started:
