Our Annual Gala: Thursday, May 4th
Taste of Spring is our annual fundraiser gala. This year is our 13th year, and we're moving the event to the beautiful and historic California Ballroom in Downtown Oakland. A stone's throw from City Hall, the California Ballroom was built in the 1920s and recently renovated. It served as the ballroom for the Leamington Hotel (now the Leamington Building). The event will be held on Thursday, May 4th at 5:30 pm. Like the past five years, this event will sell out!
This year, we're honoring the Foundation's Past President, Barry Weiss, post-humously. We will also honor Rue Mapp of Outdoor Afro, and Stan Dodson of Oakland Trails. We're offering an early-bird price of $75 on tickets until March 1st. After that, the price is $100.
This year's event will feature exciting silent and live auction items, live local entertainment, gourmet food, and fine beer and wine. Proceeds go toward furthering our mission of helping Oakland kids, and making our parks better.
