Volunteer with the Foundation

The Foundation is actively looking for people to join us! Whether it be as a part of our Board of Directors, or on one of our committees, we want to hear from you. We need people to join our:

  • Volunteer and Stewardship Committee: to help plan our Annual Work Day and Annual Park Survey, as well as other events throughout the year. Or, become a park steward!
  • Marketing Committee: to help promote the organization, and help plan our yearly fundraising gala, A Taste of Spring.
  • Advocacy Committee: to help in our important work with local governmental agencies in promoting and improving Oakland's parks.
  • Fundraising Committee: to help generate the funds we use to help local kids in need go to camp, and assist in our mission of helping parks.

If you are interested in joining our board, or one of our committees, and help with the great and rewarding work we do, let us know! Please email us a little about yourself, and where your interest are.

Other Volunteer Opportunities

Do you like to get a little dirty, feel the rich soil between your fingertips, or experience the great satisfaction you get from extricating a stubborn, root-imbedded weed from its grounded home? Those and many other gardening chores are standard fare at a number of Oakland parks and the organizations that conduct regular workdays at these parks would be glad to welcome you as a volunteer. Find one near your home or even across town and get started:
